Ras Al Khaimah is poised to make history once more by striving to break two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ through its breathtaking New Year’s Eve fireworks presentation. This spectacular showcase will feature pioneering choreography and cutting-edge techniques never before seen, unfolding along 4.5 kilometers of shoreline, spanning from Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra Village, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for the festivities.
The fireworks extravaganza will encompass eight minutes of sheer enchantment, combining a stunning “carpet” of aquatic pyrotechnics, LED drones, and fireworks synchronized to specially composed music. Inspired by Ras Al Khaimah natural wonders – the Sea, Desert, and Mountains – this display aims to set two new records: the ‘Longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks’ and the ‘Longest straight-line drone display’.
Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, emphasized, “Expanding upon our prior achievements, Ras Al Khaimah continues to innovate and curate unforgettable experiences for both locals and visitors. This New Year’s Eve celebration not only aims to illuminate the sky and unite communities but also strives to establish two new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™, solidifying Ras Al Khaimah status as the ultimate destination for welcoming the new year.”
Anticipating an audience of over 50,000 spectators, two options are available for witnessing the fireworks. The first is a free-access musical festival open to the public, while the second, named SoundFest, requires paid access. The public event includes dedicated viewing sections, children’s activities, food trucks, and live entertainment. SoundFest offers an elevated viewing experience along with live music performances from an array of international bands. Notable acts include a UK-based U2 tribute band, Code Masr delivering a fusion of Egyptian rock, RainaEg presenting Raï music from North Africa, and Dabbet Namla performing Arabic Indie pop-rock. DJ BIA will conclude the night in style, ensuring a lively dance floor – the perfect conclusion to the year.
New elements introduced this year include free-access areas for camping and caravans, as well as a Vehicle Viewing Point for those preferring to enjoy the fireworks from their cars.
This exceptional celebration builds upon Ras Al Khaimah tradition of hosting record-breaking New Year’s Eve events, underscoring its commitment to uniting visitors, residents, and diverse communities. Additionally, it reflects Ras Al Khaimah robust growth in visitor numbers in 2023 and its complete recovery in tourism, advancing towards the goal of attracting over 3 million annual visitors by 2030.
