AlUla Falcon Cup 2023 debuts with record SAR60M prizes, showcasing global falconry in Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural event, Dec 28-Jan 5.
The realm is emphasizing its status as a premier global hub for both falcons and their enthusiasts. During the time frame from December 28 to January 5, the international community will witness the most substantial prize pool ever offered in the history of falconry contests. This event is the inaugural AlUla Falcon Cup 2023, a collaborative effort by the Saudi Falcons Club and the Royal Commission for AlUla, set to take place in the AlUla region, boasting a staggering SAR60 million in prizes.
This event follows the highly successful King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, which marked a significant milestone by securing its third entry into the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest falconry contest in terms of participant numbers, featuring 2,654 falcons from eight different nations. This achievement is a testament to the Kingdom’s dedication to preserving its cultural heritage, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The AlUla Falcon Cup, with its record-breaking SAR60 million prize fund, stands as the most lucrative falconry competition globally. It will feature elite falconers from both local and international circles, competing across four categories in the Al-Milwah and Al-Mazayen events.
This initiative is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of the Kingdom’s rich falconry heritage, showcasing this revered tradition on an international stage. It also aims to foster environmental consciousness, promote wildlife conservation, and support the growth and skill enhancement of local falconers.
