The Ministry of Tourism orchestrated a two-day National Conference on Adventure Tourism held at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, themed ‘Viksit Bharat@2047: Making India a Global Adventure Tourism Hub’. The primary objective behind this gathering was to provide a forum for discussions and formulate strategies and actions aimed at positioning India as a leading global hub for adventure tourism.
During the subsequent day of the National Conference involving State Tourism Secretaries, the Ministry of Tourism placed emphasis on Destination Planning, Development, and Management. Gujarat’s Government presented a comprehensive overview of the Statue of Unity as a tourist hotspot, covering its evolution, master plan, development and management authority, and future prospects.
Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism highlighted the ongoing efforts in crafting destination master plans and development under Swadesh Darshan 2.0.
Discussions also revolved around advancements in collaborating with states on initiatives such as the Incredible India Portal, Meet in India campaign, Wed in India campaign, Travel for LiFE program, and the Best Rural Tourism Village and Homestay competition. States were urged to collaborate closely with the Ministry of Tourism on these initiatives, which would foster comprehensive and sustainable growth in the tourism sector within their regions.
Furthermore, states were encouraged to actively engage in national competitions initiated by the Ministry, aiming to unearth exemplary practices across various domains in the country for potential replication and broader impact.
