In anticipation of one of Las Vegas’ most awaited openings, the Fontainebleau Las Vegas held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event on Wednesday, Dec. 13, shortly before opening its doors to the public. Jeffrey Soffer, Chairman and CEO of Fontainebleau Development, together with top executives from Fontainebleau Las Vegas, local officials, community leaders, and distinguished national guests, celebrated this significant occasion with champagne, live violin music, and the cutting of the distinctive “Bleau” ribbon.
Mr. Soffer expressed his enthusiasm during the event: “Welcome to the Fontainebleau Las Vegas era. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter as we invite our first guests to enjoy the epitome of luxury hospitality.”
He further added, “Las Vegas, a city of dreams and endless possibilities, is the perfect backdrop for our resort. This symbolizes our dedication to excellence, our commitment to top-quality hospitality, and our ability to overcome challenges.”
The ceremony took place in the resort’s Urs Fischer Gallery, realizing Mr. Soffer’s nearly two-decade-long vision to expand the renowned Fontainebleau brand from Miami Beach to Las Vegas. Originally conceptualized in the early 2000s, the project was reacquired by Fontainebleau Development and Koch Real Estate Investments in 2021. Fontainebleau Las Vegas, now the tallest habitable structure in Nevada, continues the Fontainebleau legacy of elegance, sophisticated style, and innovative design that spans over 70 years.
A key highlight was when Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom joined Mr. Soffer on stage to present him with the Key to the Strip, declaring December 13 as “Fontainebleau Las Vegas Day.” Commissioner Segerblom recognized Fontainebleau Development’s major role in enhancing the Strip’s reputation and strengthening its bond with the Las Vegas community. In addition, Fontainebleau Development and the resort received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen, a Certificate of Special Congressional Commendation from U.S. Rep. Dina Titus, and an official proclamation from Assemblyman Howard Watts III.
The day’s celebrations began with this event, leading up to the grand public opening of Fontainebleau Las Vegas just before midnight.
