Amtrak scholarships Pave the way for the future of rail transportation

Amtrak is proud to announce the Amtrak Scholarship Program, offering 11 scholarships to dedicated full-time undergraduate and graduate students with a passion for the world of rail. To be considered, students must submit their applications by January 31st, no later than 11:59 p.m. ET.

The primary objective of this scholarship program is to stimulate innovation and drive progress in the rail industry. It is designed to provide academic scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students, with scholarships covering the following categories:

1. Women in STEM: Tailored for female students pursuing undergraduate or master’s degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
2. Engineering: Geared towards students who have a strong interest in rail engineering.
3. IT: Intended for students specializing in information technology, computer science, or related fields.
4. Non-Technical: Open to students studying business, finance, marketing, supply chain management, or similar disciplines.
5. A. Philip Randolph: Specifically dedicated to children, spouses, civil union partners, or domestic partners of Amtrak employees, retirees, or furloughed employees.

In addition, three Amtrak scholarships are in collaboration with and co-sponsored by Amtrak Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These scholarships aim to create connections, foster contributions, and promote a sense of belonging while raising awareness. They are reserved for high school seniors who have been profoundly impacted by their experiences within the Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, or Asian American/Pacific Islander communities. Amtrak’s commitment to nurturing a brighter future includes providing financial assistance to students who have demonstrated exceptional courage, community engagement, and leadership shaped by their unique cultural backgrounds.

Applicants are encouraged to submit multiple applications if they meet the criteria for multiple scholarship categories. The scholarships will provide valuable support for full-time students, covering tuition, fees, books, and/or equipment expenses. Amtrak extends an equal invitation to students from urban, suburban, and rural communities to apply for and submit their scholarship applications.

Furthermore, Amtrak offers various programs, including paid internships and co-op opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students, along with Apprenticeship Programs tailored to those seeking entry-level learning experiences within the rail industry.”
