Air Arabia, the leading low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, celebrated the commencement of its inaugural flight to Phuket, Thailand, with a ceremony held at Sharjah International Airport today. The event was attended by notable figures, including Her Excellency Miss Nipa Nirannoot, Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and His Excellency Mr. Khanin Boony Asopat, Consul of Thailand to the UAE. Senior management representatives from Sharjah International Airport and Air Arabia were also present.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We are delighted to introduce Air Arabia’s first flight to Phuket, a renowned tourist destination. Our aim is to broaden our network of destinations, providing passengers with affordable travel choices. This initiative underscores our commitment to delivering convenient options for travelers and supporting the growth of the travel and tourism sectors in both countries.”
Nestled in the Andaman Sea, Phuket, Thailand’s largest island, is celebrated for its picturesque oceans and vibrant arts and cultural scene. The new flights connecting Sharjah International Airport and Phuket International Airport will operate four times weekly.
Air Arabia operates a modern fleet comprising 72 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, recognized as the most modern and best-selling single-aisle aircraft globally. The airline enhances the passenger experience with value-added amenities such as ‘SkyTime,’ a complimentary in-flight streaming service, and ‘SkyCafe,’ an onboard catering service offering affordable prices. Additionally, Air Arabia provides ‘Air Rewards,’ an innovative and generous loyalty program enabling passengers to earn, transfer, and redeem points.
Travelers can now conveniently book direct flights between the two cities through Air Arabia’s website, the call center, or authorized travel agencies.
