In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will buzz with unique festivals, showcasing its rich culture and attracting global visitors with vibrant celebrations.
Kicking off the year’s festivities is the Tet Festival, slated for January 18-21, 2024. This event, marking the Lunar New Year, will immerse participants in cultural activities, exhibitions, cooking shows, and art displays. It’s an ideal platform for showcasing Vietnamese cultural heritage and offers a glimpse into the Tet celebration’s vibrancy.
March 2024 will see the 10th edition of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival, from March 1 to 31. This event celebrates the Ao Dai, a traditional Vietnamese dress, spotlighting its cultural significance and elegance through various cultural and spiritual activities. The festival has become a significant draw for both local and international visitors.
The city’s tourism prowess will be on full display from April 4-7, 2024, during the 20th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival. This event is designed to boost tourism, generate income, and build connections between tourism businesses and consumers. It will feature engaging performances and a fair showcasing tourism attractions and culinary specialties.
June 2024 will mark the 2nd River Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, focusing on the established river tourism sector integral to the spiritual life of Southern Vietnam. The festival will highlight the importance of river tourism in the city’s tourism strategy.
From September 5-7, 2024, the 18th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Expo (ITE HCMC 2024) will take place, a key event endorsed by five countries in the Mekong subregion. The expo, unique for its International Buyers Program, is a hub for fostering connections among global travel and tourism enterprises, promoting Vietnam and the Mekong region’s tourism potential.
December 2024 will witness the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week, a celebration filled with tourism, sports, music events, promotional activities, and shopping deals. This week-long event aims to enhance the city’s tourism appeal, cultural identity, and culinary offerings to both locals and visitors.
The year’s festivities will culminate with the 7th Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon Techcombank, coinciding with the Tourism Week. This marathon not only advocates a healthy lifestyle but also provides participants a chance to explore and appreciate the city’s landmarks.
