In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Mercure is excited to unveil its exclusive ‘Bucket List,’ designed to ignite the wanderlust of guests, travelers, and avid food enthusiasts, encouraging them to embark on a journey of local exploration. Mercure‘s Bucket List comprises a carefully curated selection of 50 exceptional food and beverage experiences from across the globe, representing some of the most outstanding and distinctive places to dine and drink while staying at a Mercure property.
James Wheatcroft, Global SVP Midscale Brands at Accor, emphasized the universal significance of food and beverages as symbols of hospitality and how they play a central role in experiencing diverse cultures. He stated, “On the occasion of our 50th anniversary, Mercure invites travelers to ‘Discover Local’ everywhere, which often means savoring the finest culinary delights that each unique corner of the world has to offer. We are thrilled to collaborate with our partners, TOPJAW and Munchies, to present these 50 extraordinary culinary adventures, hoping to inspire our guests, admirers, and followers.”
The Bucket List extends the reach of Mercure’s popular ‘Discover Local’ initiative, which spotlights local specialties and unveils fascinating local narratives for guests. To compile the food-focused Bucket List, Mercure engaged its global network, inviting hotel teams and staff to contribute their top local gastronomic experiences. These submissions were carefully reviewed by a panel of culinary and travel experts, including TOPJAW, renowned food and travel filmmakers, and Munchies, the Food by Vice team, in collaboration with Mercure’s Global Marketing team.
Each of the 50 Bucket List experiences is intricately tied to a Mercure hotel destination. With a presence spanning over 950 hotels worldwide, from Jakarta to Oxford, Mercure boasts a remarkable breadth of coverage, with hotel teams that possess not only deep knowledge of their cities but also a keen awareness of their neighborhoods’ evolving cultures.
