Passengers on board the inaugural flight of British Airways that was travelling from London to Nashville were in for a surprise as the airplane deplaned Friday evening when musician James Hayden started playing ‘My Country Tis of Thee’ on keyboard that carries the same melody as ‘God Save the Queen’.
Thereafter, passengers were handed gift bags on their way to baggage.
They have claimed that the gift bags contained local Nashville supplies including Goo Goo Clusters and Jack Daniel’s whiskey, as reported by the local newspaper.
One of the natives of London, Julie Saunders exclaimed how great a day it was for the passengers of British Airways thanks to this surprise planned by the airliner.
The singers were actually a natural choice because of their long history in the Music City that was first formed in the year 1871 but also because of their ties to England. The troupe had sung for Queen Victoria in 1873.
Paul Kwami who is the musical director of the Fisk Jubilee Singers was gleeful, mentioning that they had made history once more thanks to the wonderful music performance here.
He then expressed his gratitude to the airliner for their efforts to entertain their passengers and offering the music troupe an opportunity to perform at the event.
