British Airways reopens routes to sizzling European getaways

British Airways, the national flag carrier, is set to reintroduce its flight routes connecting London Stansted with popular vacation destinations in France, Spain, and Italy for the upcoming summer season.

Starting from May 18, 2024, British Airways will offer weekend flights to three beloved European destinations: Nice, Florence, and Ibiza.

These flights will be managed by BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of British Airways, and will employ Embraer 190 aircraft equipped with Club Europe and Euro Traveller cabins.

Club Europe ensures a premium experience with comprehensive meal service, a selection of beverages from the bar, priority boarding, and enhanced baggage allowances.

Ciaran Brannigan, London Stansted’s Commercial Director, said:

“I am delighted to welcome back British Airways to London Stansted and very much look forward to the launch of their scheduled flights from the airport in May next year.

“London Stansted serves more European destinations than any other UK airport and these new services to Ibiza, Florence and Nice are strong additions to our route network, which now covers over 190 destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

“I’m sure these routes will be very popular with passengers from across London, Cambridge and the growing East of England region who are looking to head off on their holidays next summer.

“We look forward to working closely with British Airways to build a strong working relationship and ensure these new flights are success.”

This marks the first time British Airways has scheduled flights departing from London Stansted since the onset of the global pandemic. It will also establish Stansted as the fourth London airport to be serviced by the prestigious flag carrier.

Travelers can secure seats on these flights at attractive prices, starting from £41 for Florence, £36 for Ibiza, and £43 for Nice, with booking options available on the official website.

Here are the flight schedules:

Florence:

• Saturdays: Flight BA7016 departs Stansted at 14:15, arriving in Florence at 16:30.
• Sundays: Flight BA7017 departs Stansted at 06:30, arriving in Florence at 08:45.

Ibiza:

• Saturdays: Flight BA7308 departs Stansted at 09:35, arriving in Ibiza at 12:05.
• Sundays: Flight BA7309 departs Stansted at 12:50, arriving in Ibiza at 15:15.

Nice:

• Saturdays: Flight BA2332 departs Stansted at 09:20, arriving in Nice, France at 11:20.
• Sundays: Flight BA2333 departs Stansted at 06:55, arriving in Nice, France at 08:55.

Additionally, British Airways will also operate a weekly Sunday charter service between Stansted and Calvi during the summer season in partnership with Corsican Places.
