China Eastern Airlines has successfully inaugurated its direct passenger flight route from Shanghai to Cairo, becoming the first Chinese airline to operate this route to North Africa. The maiden flight, MU223, took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 00:45 a.m. and landed at Cairo International Airport at 7:19 a.m. local time on Dec. 11.
This new route operates every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, offering travelers the convenience of a direct connection between the two vibrant cities. China Eastern Airlines employs its state-of-the-art A350-900 wide-body aircraft for this route, providing passengers with a modern and comfortable travel experience. The aircraft is equipped with the latest passenger service system and Wi-Fi, ensuring connectivity throughout the 10-hour journey.
The strategic scheduling of outbound flights in the early morning local time allows passengers to explore Cairo upon arrival or efficiently connect to other destinations in Africa and the Middle East.
