AirAsia, as the preferred airline for the people, is delighted to announce its continued support for the FLYsiswa program in the upcoming year. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, aims to facilitate affordable travel for students returning to their hometowns.
The AirAsia e-voucher for the FLYsiswa program is applicable for flight bookings covering 45 routes across 10 destinations. These routes connect key locations in Peninsula Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Kota Bharu, and East Malaysia, encompassing Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Kuching, Bintulu, Miri, Sibu, and Labuan. The e-voucher also extends to flights connecting Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
Highlighting the airline’s commitment to affordability and accessibility, this initiative not only offers great value fares but also opens doors for students to leverage the AirAsia ecosystem. This includes benefits such as airasia rewards points, inflight offerings, and more.
Riad Asmat, AirAsia Malaysia CEO, expressed pride in supporting the FLYsiswa initiative, expected to benefit approximately 50,069 eligible students enrolled in public universities nationwide. With over 23,000 submissions from verified students this year, AirAsia remains the top airline choice, with 66% of the 35,994 applicants choosing the airline.
As the Ministry’s announcement coincides with the airline’s plans to reactivate more aircraft in the coming months, AirAsia looks forward to increasing frequencies and offering lower fares. This strategic move aims to maximize benefits for students, ensuring convenient and affordable travel to their hometowns in the upcoming year.
The eligibility criteria for the FLYsiswa program are determined by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, and it extends to students pursuing tertiary education at public universities in Malaysia. This encompasses students from Sabah, Sarawak, or the Federal Territory of Labuan studying in Peninsular Malaysia, vice versa, and students studying in each other’s regions.
