Transavia Airlines, a Dutch budget carrier affiliated with the Air France-KLM group, has recently taken delivery of its inaugural Airbus A321neo aircraft through a leasing arrangement with Air Lease Corporation. This plane was received from Airbus’ manufacturing facility in Hamburg and notably employed Airbus’ option to utilize Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for its delivery flight to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. This acquisition marks Transavia’s entry into Airbus aircraft operation.
This introduction of the A321neo signals the commencement of Transavia Airlines’ transition toward an exclusively Airbus next-generation fleet. The A321neo, distinguished by its reduced fuel consumption and emissions, will play a pivotal role in advancing the airline group’s sustainability objectives.
The recently acquired A321neo for Transavia Airlines offers seating for 232 passengers in a one-class configuration. The cabin incorporates Airbus’ Airspace XL bins, boasting a 40% increase in storage space compared to its predecessors, enhancing the boarding experience for both passengers and cabin crew. Additionally, USB-C ports are available at every seat for passenger convenience, and the latest lighting system enhances the overall in-flight experience.
The Airbus A321neo represents the largest member of the Airbus A320neo Family, renowned for its exceptional range and performance. Equipped with sharklets and powered by cutting-edge CFM International LEAP-1A engines, the A321neo delivers a notable 50% reduction in noise levels and a 20% decrease in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions when compared to earlier generations of single-aisle aircraft.
Thus far, the A321neo has garnered an impressive 5,600 orders from more than 100 customers worldwide.
