Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has achieved an exceptional milestone by demonstrating a remarkable 109% recovery in passenger traffic during November, surpassing the levels observed in November 2018 before the pandemic. The airport proudly hosted 4.46 million passengers, underscoring its resilience and pivotal role as a major travel hub. This achievement is attributed to its world-class connectivity, the introduction of new domestic and international destinations, as well as its outstanding infrastructure and services. CSMIA not only rebounded but thrived, establishing itself as a premier travel hub with unparalleled efficiency and excellence.

November marked an extraordinary month for CSMIA, witnessing the highest daily passenger traffic on November 25th, with 167,132 passengers traversing through the airport (comprising over 120,000 domestic passengers and more than 46,000 international passengers). On November 11th, 2023, CSMIA set a new record for the highest-ever single-day Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) with a remarkable total of 1,032 ATMs.

Furthermore, CSMIA experienced its highest-ever monthly traffic in November 2023, reaching an impressive 4.46 million, signifying a 13% growth compared to November 2022 (3.9 million). The month showcased remarkable domestic traffic, with 3 million passengers traveling. November 2023 also saw a total of 28,679 ATMs, a 12% increase from November 2022 (25,375), including approximately 20,000 domestic and 7,000 international ATMs.

In November 2023, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai maintained their positions as the top domestic destinations for CSMIA, while Dubai, London, and Abu Dhabi continued to be the preferred international choices. Notably, the Mumbai – Delhi route alone recorded substantial traffic with 557,393 passengers. IndiGo, Vistara, and Air India dominated the domestic market share, with IndiGo serving over 1.6 million domestic passengers. In the international sector, IndiGo, Air India, and Emirates retained their leading positions. CSMIA expanded its international connectivity and frequency by adding services to destinations like Entebbe, Baku, Bangkok, and Toronto, enhancing its diverse travel network.

The impressive passenger traffic figures at CSMIA once again underscore the airport’s consistent growth in the industry and reaffirm the unwavering trust passengers place in it. With world-class hospitality, a global network, and top-notch safety standards, CSMIA continues to set new benchmarks, promising seamless travel and positioning itself at the forefront of the aviation industry.
