Sri Lanka has already started discussions with Australia in terms of direct flight services from Perth to the Sri Lankan capital with an intension to perk up Sri Lankan tourism in Australia.
The Sri Lanka tourism minister, Harin Fernando, informed a news agency that talks were organized on the sidelines of the first level of Sri Lanka Tourism Roadshow that was introduced this week in Perth, Australia.
Harin Fernando, the tourism minister, Sri Lanka opened the roadshow together with the tourism ambassador of Sri Lanka, Sanath Jayasuriya, Rosh Jalagge, the honorary consul of Sri Lanka for Western Australia, and Chalaka Gajabahu, the chairman of the Sri Lanka tourism promotion bureau.
On the sidelines of the roadshow arranged for the audiences who were targeted, talks were also organized with the Deputy Premier, Australia, Rita Saffioti.
Minister Harin Fernando explained that the first round of talks happened with Rita Saffioti in terms of direct flight launch from Perth to Colombo.
The discussions happened after an event organized for the experts of the industry, like travel agents and community in Sri Lanka in Western Australia on encouraging Sri Lanka as the best tourist destination.
Minister Fernando explained that strong discussions on organizing an impressive roadshow in 2024.
