Latvian national airline, airBaltic, has unveiled its winter season 2023, featuring four new destinations from Tampere, Finland. The expanded winter schedule introduces routes to Tenerife and Gran Canaria in Spain, Tallinn in Estonia, and a first-time domestic route from Tampere to Kittilä in Finland.
Thomas Ramdahl, Senior Vice President Network Management at airBaltic, expressed commitment to enhancing connectivity and thanked Tampere partners for their cooperation.
The introduction of these routes not only provides travelers with diverse options for warm getaways, snowy adventures, and city escapes but also marks airBaltic’s increasing market share in Tampere. Mari Nurminen, Vice President at Finavia, welcomed the new routes, highlighting the positive impact on Tampere’s global connectivity.
Notably, the direct route from Tampere to Kittilä is introduced just in time for the peak winter holiday season. Harri Airaksinen, CEO of Business Tampere, praised the accessibility of Gran Canaria from Tampere-Pirkkala, emphasizing the convenience and ecological benefits.
The move aligns with airBaltic’s commitment to delivering comfort and diverse services to passengers. The routes, particularly Gran Canaria, cater to the winter travel preferences of Finns, and airBaltic’s network operations from the airport contribute to a smooth travel experience.
The collaborative efforts underscore the commitment to providing a range of travel opportunities for the Tampere region. The announcement reflects airBaltic’s dedication to expanding its network and strengthening ties with its home cities.
