Iberia

Starting next April, Iberia will add a new city to its list of destinations: Tirana. On 28 March, the airline will begin operating three weekly flights from Madrid to Tirana’s Nënë Tereza International Airport.

The capital of Albania will have three direct connections a week from Madrid-Barajas airport, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. This route will be operated with A320neo aircraft, with capacity for 186 passengers. Thus, during the summer season of 2024, a total of 32,364 seats will be offered between Spain and the Balkan country.

Flight Schedule

For the outbound route to Tirana, a flight will be scheduled on Tuesdays and Sundays at 8:00a.m. and on Thursdays at 8:40a.m. The return route will operate on the same days: Tuesdays and Sundays at 11:45a.m. and Thursdays at 12:25p.m.

Tirana Becomes Iberia’s 138th Destination

Tirana, Iberia’s new destination this year, is not well-known to Spanish tourists and combines a rich cultural heritage with impressive nature. Albania, a calm and hospitable country, is one of the best kept secrets in the Balkans. This destination offers attractions for all tastes: the tranquility of its Mediterranean coast, the Albanian Riviera; mountains reaching over 2,000 metres, castles, and Unesco Heritage Sites such as the city of Berat.

Tickets are now on sale at iberia.com and travel agencies from €79 per trip when purchasing a return ticket.

Flights between Easter and the End of October to Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, Catania, and Ponta Delgada.

Iberia consolidates several of the routes that it operated only in July and August, and, starting next summer season, will offer them from April to the end of October. This is the case of Split and Zagreb (Croatia), Catania (Italy), and Ponta Delgada (Portugal).

In addition, Iberia will increase the number of frequencies on offer to these destinations.

Dubrovnik, where it was already flying all year round, will have an average of three additional frequencies next summer, and will reach a maximum of 15 weekly flights in August. Zagreb will add an average of four flights and will have a maximum of nine frequencies per week in August, and Split will add an average of three, reaching nine weekly flights in August.

Iberia will also increase its operations in Italy and Portugal. Catania will have up to nine flights a week in August 2024, and Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, will have three weekly flights from Madrid.

Operations will also be expanded to other destinations to which Iberia flies in the summer season: the Greek islands and the island of Sardinia. The airline will schedule flights to Corfu, Mykonos, and Santorini (Greece) and Olbia (Sardinia, Italy) from May to September. And in Bergen (Norway), Iberia will operate from May to early September, instead of only in July and August.
