American Express has enhanced its Membership Rewards® (MR) program in India through the introduction of Reward Xcelerator, an innovative initiative designed exclusively for Platinum Charge Cardmembers. This initiative allows them to earn rewards at an accelerated rate of up to 20X* across a wide array of premium brands such as Darveys, Tata CLiQ Luxury, Kapoor Watch Company, Forest Essentials, and more. The strategic collaborations with these premium brands enhance the overall value of the program, providing Cardmembers with flexibility and convenience to shop across their preferred categories.
In addition to Platinum Charge Cardmembers, other American Express Cardmembers can also earn rewards across various categories, both small and big-ticket, and receive bonus points by utilizing the ‘Reward Multiplier’ website.
The Reward Xcelerator empowers Cardmembers to amplify their earning potential for both in-store and online purchases. They can redeem the accumulated rewards at their discretion. For instance, a Platinum Charge Cardmember shopping at Kapoor Watch Company, who would have previously earned 1 point for every Rs. 40 spent, can now earn 10 points with every Rs. 40 spent under this program.

He emphasized the program’s value, choice, and flexibility, praising the higher earning rate and the timeless nature of the rewards, which never expire. With the Reward Xcelerator program, Cardmembers can accumulate rewards at their preferred premium brands more swiftly.
Gopal Asthana, CEO of Tata CLiQ, expressed excitement about advancing the longstanding partnership with American Express through the Reward Xcelerator program. He emphasized the program’s contribution to providing American Express Cardmembers with multiple premium options for earning reward points while shopping on Tata CLiQ, Tata CLiQ Luxury, and Tata CLiQ Palette.
Prateik Kapoor, Head of Communications and Operations at Kapoor Watch Company, described the program as a unique initiative of great value, particularly for watch enthusiasts seeking exclusive timepieces. He noted that with Reward Xcelerator, American Express Cardmembers can expedite their rewards and invest in watches of their choice.
