Nestled within the ten floors of the One Dojima Project’s high-rise structure, this luxurious hotel is slated to open its doors in August 2024, situated in Osaka’s bustling commercial center.

Hailing from Lanai island in Hawaii, Alastair brings over three decades of invaluable expertise in luxury hospitality, having previously served as General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Lanai and Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort. With a robust background within the Four Seasons brand, he eagerly anticipates introducing its hallmark excellence to a fresh market.

Expressing enthusiasm about the expansion in Japan, Alastair emphasizes the Hotel’s potential to become Osaka’s premier luxury lifestyle destination. He highlights Osaka’s thriving culinary landscape, rich historical heritage, and convenient access to attractions across western Japan, making it a burgeoning hotspot for travelers. Alastair aims to unveil the city’s gems to visitors while delivering world-class hospitality to local residents.

The hotel’s key features include 175 exquisitely crafted accommodations offering breathtaking skyline panoramas, a dedicated Japanese-style floor featuring tatami rooms and suites, and a remarkable array of dining and beverage venues.

Leveraging his extensive culinary background, Alastair will oversee the launch of six distinct outlets, including Sushi O, a sushi restaurant; Jiang-Nan Chun, a signature Chinese dining experience; and Bar BOTA, a prominent drinking destination set to elevate Osaka’s culinary scene. Additionally, the lineup includes Jardine, an all-day French bistro; CHA, a refined tea lounge; and FARINE, an artisanal bakery.

Alastair notes the collaborative efforts with acclaimed design studios such as Curiosity, SIMPLICITY, and Design Studio Spin, ensuring each space within the hotel tells a unique story and embodies Osaka’s spirit. Situated in the Dojima area, the hotel promises guests an immersion into the local ambiance with its assortment of cozy cafes, hidden bars, and historical sites, while remaining well-connected to Osaka’s main transportation and business hub.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Alastair’s journey commenced at the Scottish Hotel School at Strathclyde University, followed by early career experiences as a trainee sommelier in Scotland. Joining Four Seasons in 1996, he steadily climbed the ranks across various iconic locations like Hong Kong, Maldives, Tokyo, Washington, DC, and New York.

Having held pivotal roles in esteemed properties across the globe, Alastair’s dedication to hospitality remains undiminished even after more than three decades. He cherishes the simplest gestures of appreciation from guests, finding immense joy in their gratitude.
