Edmund Bartlett, the Tourism Minister is requesting to all stakeholders to aim on this rising sector in order to assure that all players usually, can benefit from the industry, and also, to control impractical expectations.
Last week, while delivering a speech at the 8th annual Speed Networking event organized at Montego Bay Convention Centre in St James, Bartlett logically said that the sector, which has developed by five per cent above 2019, has currently altered mechanism from revival to growth, a state of affairs which has chance to draw additional players and get even more competitive.
Bartlett stated that it is one thing for them all to get better, keeping in mind that the upturn takes us back to ground zero. To flourish after revival is the main test. And some people are kind of considering that the revival means that everything must take place and that recuperation denotes that the pie is bigger.
However what revival actually means is that one has a pie and the pie is there. But a lot of times, what revival brings is more players who want a piece of the pie. Therefore, if one doesn’t expand the pie, the slices are going to get thinner with each passing day, or some people will not get anything at all.
He also stated that rather than making impressive statements about the pie and who is not getting, let’s start a talk on the way to increase the pie to make the pie bigger.
