Porter Airlines and Alaska Airlines have unveiled an extensive partnership, capitalizing on Porter’s strong presence in Eastern Canada and Alaska’s established links along the U.S. West Coast. This collaboration aims to enhance flight options and overall service quality for passengers traveling coast to coast.
Under this newly established interline agreement, passengers can now conveniently purchase combined Porter-Alaska itineraries either directly through flyporter.com or from third-party travel agencies.
Starting in January, Alaska’s Mileage Plan members can begin earning points on Porter flights booked via Alaska Airlines. Furthermore, in 2024, both VIPorter and Mileage Plan members will accumulate miles in their respective loyalty programs, regardless of where they book their flights.
In the near future, passengers can look forward to additional benefits, such as enhanced mileage redemptions, with increased availability for both VIPorter and Mileage Plan members on each other’s airlines. The partnership between Porter and Alaska will continue to strengthen throughout 2024.
“This collaboration with Alaska Airlines is a significant boon for travelers seeking more choices and superior service when flying within Canada and the United States,” noted Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines. “Both Alaska Airlines and Porter Airlines are deeply dedicated to delivering outstanding passenger service on every single flight. We are genuinely enthusiastic about the potential this partnership holds for travelers across North America.”
In January, Porter flights connecting Toronto Pearson with destinations in California will commence, enabling passengers to fly directly to major Alaska Airlines hubs in Los Angeles and San Francisco. These hubs, in addition to existing Porter destinations like Boston and New York, will initially grant access to 18 western U.S. markets, including Portland, San Diego, Seattle, and Phoenix, all reachable through an Alaska Airlines connection. Connections via shared Canadian airports are expected to become available in early 2024.
Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances, and Sales at Alaska Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Porter Airlines opens up exciting new opportunities for our passengers to travel to Canada in style. We are delighted to partner with a vibrant and expanding airline and look forward to our passengers enjoying Porter’s refined experience, which includes exceptional in-flight service and outstanding onboard amenities.”
With a modern fleet consisting of over 300 aircraft, Alaska Airlines consistently delivers reliable operations and offers a premium product at competitive rates. Passengers who appreciate Porter’s elevated economy experience can expect a similar level of comfort when flying with Alaska Airlines.
