DOT prepares Muslim Mindanao tourism scheme

The Department of Tourism is working day and night to encourage Muslim Mindanao to the tourists from Muslim countries, as per Myra Paz Valderrosa Abubakar, the Tourism Undersecretary.

The agency is aiming possible visitors from adjoining Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei and is keeping an eye on the 15 million Muslim-Filipinos of the country as well as a separate market in terms of local tourism, she added.

In Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Basilan, there are many places like the undiscovered seashores, as per Abubakar. Abubakar also added that to all the tourism operators and entrepreneurs, the DOT of late issued a circular countrywide to guide them on the to make their establishments more Muslim-friendly.
