Hallstatt day during high season which is a World Heritage Site based in Austria, gets around 10,000 visitors. This small town has just over 700 inhabitants.

On the number of tourists on a daily basis, the residents of Hallstatt are calling for restrictions and for an immediate stop on tour buses after 17:00 local time.

For the financial system of Hallstatt, so far tourism has been good as few locals say there are too many visitors these days.

Hallstatt, with its charming ancient houses on the shores of a unspoiled Alpine lake bounded by rocky mountains, has turned into a hotspot for tourism in recent years.

In a South Korean romantic drama, this place got featured in 2006. This boosted its fame in Asia with an imitation of this lovely Austrian town being built in China six years after.

With the exotic lake, the slender pale grey church tower and the spectacular mountain backdrop as a lovely background.

As one of the most over-touristed destinations in Europe, some locals of Hallstatt claim that the town is facing too many rush of visitors, mainly the day trippers, who come into the town in buses.

Just like Venice and other places, this town is also affected by what’s known as over-tourism.
