IHG Hotels & Resorts, a premier name in the global hospitality industry, is making notable progress in the extended stay sector in Canada. In 2023, IHG Hotels & Resorts opened *3 new extended stay locations, with another *16 in development, marking a clear uptick in interest from both business and leisure travelers in Canada seeking cost-effective, long-term accommodation.

In response to the growing demand, IHG Hotels & Resorts is purposefully expanding its extended stay offerings in the Suites Collection. Featured IHG brands such as Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites are central to this expansion, ensuring guests enjoy a premium extended stay experience. IHG’s extended stay hotels are tailored to offer guests everything necessary for a comfortable stay while away from home.

The recent IHG openings in Canada for extended stays are:

• Candlewood Suites Collingwood (Ontario): In the tourist-friendly town of Collingwood, known for its winter ski activities at Blue Mountain and summer limestone cave explorations, this 51-room IHG hotel offers guests full kitchens and large fifty-inch TVs, alongside other amenities like onsite housekeeping and 24-hour access to the Candlewood Cupboard.
• Staybridge Suites Port Elgin (Ontario): Positioned beautifully along Lake Huron’s shore, this IHG property boasts panoramic views of the hillside and serene countryside. It offers apartment-style suites with well-equipped kitchens and spacious living and work areas. The pet-friendly hotel features an indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor patio with firepit and barbeques, and a game room. Guests are also treated to complimentary hot breakfast and evening receptions.
• Staybridge Suites Dawson Creek (British Columbia): Near Waterfront Park in Dawson Creek, this IHG hotel provides stunning river views and local activities such as snowmobile tours and horseback riding. Amenities include a daily breakfast buffet, happy hour events, laundry facilities, a pool, hot tub, and a well-equipped gym.
