Assam witnesses whopping increase in tourist numbers

There is an enormous upsurge in tourist numbers of 573% in local travelers and 783% in overseas travelers this year in Assam, said the Tourism Minister of the state, Jayanta Malla Baruah.

The minister met foremost tour operators from Delhi to uphold Assam as a tourist place and to reinforce
collaboration with tourism associates.

Around 25 Delhi-based tour operators, travel representatives and travel journal companies assembled at the conference hall of Assam House for arranging smart packages for upholding Assam in a great way.

Jayanta Malla Baruah requested the tour operators to work concurrently with the tourism division and other shareholders to uphold the tourism segment which has massive prospect with its opulent values, ethnicities, flora and fauna and promote Assam as a tourist spot.

Baruah asked the tour operators to create captivating packages knowing the preference of travelers visiting diverse places. The minister said that the Assam administration would organize to take the tour workers from Delhi to Assam for a familiarization trip that would encourage them to create packages custom-made to the meet the requirement of vacationers.
