S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister said that India and Bhutan are thinking about constructing a rail- link concerning Bhutan and Assam. The minister also mentioned the rail-link’s possibility to surge the
tourism prospect of both places.
Jaishankar said that they are discussing regarding the rail connection between Bhutan and Assam. Bhutan is very ardent to open more routes for tourists and it is extremely well-intentioned for Assam.
Previously in April, the examination for this railway route was carried on. This railway line is expected to
function back and forth concerning Bhutan’s Gelephu to Kokrajar in Assam.
This would be the first-ever railway link between India and Bhutan and it is predictable to be finished by 2026. The Indian administration will provide funds for the 57- kilometer railway.
