The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is just around the corner, with 32 hopeful nations from around the world all coming together to compete for the title of World Cup champions.
Some nations have travelled as far as 43,951.78 round miles to reach this year’s tournament during the qualification process, but that figure is nothing compared to how far other nations have gone to compete at different World Cups throughout history.
The Qatar 2022 World Cup will be the 22nd World Cup tournament to take place in history, and with certain nations appearing at nearly every tournament – that’s a whole lot of distance covered.
But which nations have put in the most miles to reach World Cup finals throughout the tournament’s history?
As part of their World Cup Travel Index campaign, betting.com has revealed exactly that – taking the location of the stadium that each World Cup final has been held in, the team has measured distances to each nation to rank and reveal the nations that have travelled the furthest in order to compete at the World Cup.
