Barcelona, one of the most important travel attractions imposes many rules to create a safe travelling experience for tourists and local people.
These rules include costume rules, additional decorum for restaurant and bar entry and restrictions on the public lavatory. The most important change brought is the one to reroute large tourist groups. Barcelona officials are now preferring smaller tourist groups.
The rule will impose noise restrictions and overcrowding. Pressure has been rising near Antoni Gaudi Casa Battlo and FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou. These rules are generated for protecting the local citizens.
According to the new rule tourists have to travel in a group of 30 people maximum. This further drops to 15 in narrow areas like Ciutat Vella. This is also one of the oldest areas of the city. Tour companies are thus encouraging groups to book the tours prior to the journies.
The leaders are instructed to halt at only those areas which are quite spacious. This is proposed to avoid overcrowding in the streets and avoid becoming obstacles.
The tours are now limited to only 24 streets and squares. The tour operators are also required to plot the walking or driving tours in a way so that there is a minimum inconvenience.
Since the pandemic has disrupted the travel business hugely the tourist management in Spain has faced complications.
Now that the tourist numbers are slowly coming back to the pre-pandemic situation it is necessary to tackle the crowd in Spain or so do authorities think.
