Kashmir saw an unparalleled arrival of more than 18,000 overseas travelers in the course of the five
months of this year, registering the maximum tourists witnessed in the previous thirty years, said the officials.
The flourishing implementation of the G20 summit in Kashmir has meaningfully amplified the interest among tourists. Together with tourists from nations in Southeast Asia like Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, there has been a considerable rush in visitors from Western countries like Italy, Spain, the UK and the US discovering the loveliness of Kashmir during this period.
The improvement in incoming or overseas tourists is credited by authorities to the achievement of the G20 Tourism Working Group conference organized in May. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, the Secretary of the Division of Tourism and Culture said that since the G-20 summit was a magnificent achievement, the world witnessed their actual tourism prospect. The emissaries, representatives and high commissioners of G20 nations experienced the friendliness, cordiality and essence of Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah said that a few decades before, Jammu and Kashmir was one of the leading places in the world
considering relaxation, exploration and mystical tourism. He hoped that J&K will once again become one
of the topmost tourist destinations in the world.
