The Tamil Nadu government is distributing funds to overhaul all the old temples, churches and mosques with a mission to grow and expand the spiritual and heritage tourism of the state. The state’s chief minister will introduce the state tourism policy very soon, and the government at present is looking for investors to consider Tamil Nadu as an eminent destination for investments. Also, the state is targeting on tech-based tourism by keep its tourism app and website posted with recent information.
The strength of Tamil Nadu is in its spiritual and heritage tourism. The state government is giving away funds in equal measures for these temples, churches and mosques to get a new look to enlarge the sector in the state, Sandeep Nanduri, tourism development corporation managing director said the above.
While speaking during the one-day Hindustan Times Tourism Conclave in a virtual meeting, Nanduri assured that Mr. MK Stalin, the chief minister will launch the state tourism policy very soon.
He also mentioned that the strength of Tamil Nadu is in heritage and spiritual tourism. They have more than 80,000 temples and six are part of UNESCO heritage sites out of these. He mentioned that these places draw a lot of inbound tourists, he said during the seminar.
