At the onset of this year’s winter season, Qatar Tourism carried out an inspection campaign targeting four-wheel drive bike rental establishments situated in Sealine and Ghariyah. The primary objective of this campaign was to ensure strict compliance with Law No. (20)/2018, which outlines operational guidelines and standards for vehicles utilized in tourism activities.
In conjunction with the initiation of the winter season, Qatar Tourism coordinated the yearly examination in partnership with the Sealine-based South Security Department, the Ghariyah-based North Security Department, the General Directorate of Traffic, and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).
Mr. Ali Al Mohannadi, Head of the Tourism Control Section at Qatar Tourism, remarked on the occasion, stating, “Furnishing distinctive tourism experiences stands as a top priority for Qatar Tourism. Given that desert excursions hold significant cultural importance in Qatar and are a popular tourism activity, we work closely with pertinent public and private entities to enhance security and safety during the camping season. Our collaborative efforts extend to supporting rental office owners in meeting licensing requirements, emphasizing the delivery of excellent services. Our regulations not only prioritize the safety of campers and tourists but also safeguard the investments of vendors, ensuring a quality experience.”
As the regulatory authority overseeing all facets of the tourism and hospitality sector, including licensing, classification of institutions and activities, Qatar Tourism places a strong emphasis on delivering secure and safe products and experiences. In light of the rising popularity of camping and related activities, the enforcement of regulations holds paramount importance, fostering the development of offerings within an optimal and secure environment.
Qatar’s renowned winter season is vividly portrayed in the recently launched destination campaign by Qatar Tourism, titled ‘Hayyakum Qatar,’ which showcases the diverse attractions and events Qatar has to offer. Additionally, Qatar Tourism released the December edition of its monthly guide, Qatar Calendar, earlier this month, featuring a range of events from outdoor bazaars to sports championships, art exhibitions, and more.
