China is extending visa-free travel to air passengers from five European countries.
These countries include France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain, and Malaysia.

Germany’s largest airline Lufthansa, in collaboration with Air China, has announced plans to increase weekly flights between the two countries from 21 to 31.

There’s been an increase in passengers travelling to and from Europe at Beijing’s international airport since the introduction of the visa-free travel arrangements one week ago.
In the past week the number of passengers and seat occupancy rates for arrivals from these six countries have consistently increased.

There has been a growth of around 10 percent in passenger numbers and a seven percent increase in seat occupancy rates.
Travel to other overseas destinations is also recovering steadily.
This year, Air China has resumed 26 international routes at Beijing Capital International Airport.

Currently, there are 52 international routes operating at the BCIA, with approximately 86 flights per day, reaching about 70 percent of the level in 2019.
The number of international travellers passing through Beijing International Airport is likely to reach eight million this year.
