The Indian Railways HR services recently launched a mobile application for its employees. Designed by the Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS), the HRMS Mobile App will enable digitalization of the Indian Railway services. The brand new app was launched by Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman of Railway Board.
The mobile app allows all employees of Indian Railways to see any kind of data related to their respective service. They can view relevant historical data since the very beginning of their joining. Employees can also easily communicate with the Railway administration for any required changes through the app. The application has already gathered data of nearly 93% of railway employees.
Any employee of the Indian Railways can access detailed data related to their service, such as training, postings, leave, transfers, awards, promotions, increments and nominations for retirement benefits. Alongside the same, scanned copy of physical service records of the employees are also available on the app. Employees can also view their e-service records which are a compilation of the entry made in the HRMS application.
As informed by the Railway Ministry in a press statement, this information is not ready for employee access at the moment. However, a detailed exercise of data entry and validation has already begun. He also said that the application brings transparency to the administrative workflow. It is also an important milestone in the digitalization and computerization of HR services and activities in Indian Railways.
To access the records through the application, employees should install the app through Google Play. Post-installation, they need to register themselves by entering their IPAS Number or PF Number. After the input, a One-Time-Password will be sent to their registered mobile number. The application would be available for use after the completion of the registration process.
