Sharjah is named as among the world’s most ideal vacation destinations that enable visitors to enjoy five-star luxury that would not be too taxing on the tourists in terms of the expenses.
The Northern Emirate had ranked 5th on the research compiled by a leading global travel search engine that is aiming to make luxury stays even more attainable for globetrotters.
In the list of 100 cities providing reasonably priced five-star accommodations, only the Egyptian resorts of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, Sofia and Kuala Lumpur were ranked cheaper as compared to Sharjah.
It mentioned that Sharjah had offered five-star stays at an average of AED497 per night and the cheapest Sharm El Sheikhhad offered luxury rooms for an average of AED389 per night.
Sharjah has been investing quite a lot in its tourism sector with an AED1.5 billion ($410 million) expansion plan at Sharjah International Airport.
This plan includes the great expansion of the passenger terminal in the next four years that would raise the capacity of Sharjah International Airport to 20 million passengers by 2027.
And this data also portrayed that Abu Dhabi (AED814) was ranked the 26th cheapest five-star destination while the holy city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia was ranked 64th (AED1,245).
