Starting February 15, 2024, Breeze Airways has announced the addition of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) service to San Bernardino International Airport (SBD). The flights will operate roundtrip every Thursday and Sunday, providing convenient access to the “Valley of the Sun,” the newest destination from Southern California’s recently established airport. Seats are available for as low as $39 one way and can be booked at FlySBD.

Breeze Airways initiated nonstop service to San Francisco International Airport from SBD in August 2022, extending BreezeThru service to Provo, UT. In February 2023, the airline introduced seasonal service from San Bernardino to Las Vegas, NV, along with a BreezeThru flight to Hartford, CT. With this latest service announcement, Breeze will commence seasonal flights from SBD to PHX, maintaining BreezeThru service to Hartford, CT, utilizing Airbus A220 aircraft equipped with three seating options—Nice, Nicer, and Nicest.

Frank J. Navarro, SBD’s Commission President and Mayor of the City of Colton, expressed enthusiasm about the new nonstop service to Phoenix, emphasizing SBD’s recognition by the U.S. Department of Transportation as the most affordable airport in the nation. He highlighted the airport’s growing popularity among travelers for its convenience and cost-effectiveness.

David Neeleman, CEO of Breeze Airways, shared his satisfaction in providing more nonstop travel opportunities for guests from San Bernardino and the Inland Empire. With the addition of Phoenix, he emphasized that the city is now just a short $39 hop away from SBD.

Phoenix, the fifth largest city in the U.S., renowned as the Valley of the Sun, serves as the gateway to a major metropolitan area encompassing Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, and Chandler.

Michael Burrows, SBD CEO, acknowledged the positive impact of Breeze Airways on making travel to the Phoenix area more accessible for Inland Empire residents. He emphasized the convenience of skipping the drive and easily reaching family, friends, conducting business, or supporting favorite sports teams through the local airport.

Mark Gibbs, Director of Aviation, expressed satisfaction with Breeze Airways offering affordable travel options, noting that Inland Empire residents appreciate the pleasant travel experience provided by Breeze from the nation’s most affordable airport. Additionally, he highlighted the affordable parking at $5.00 per day, conveniently located next to the terminal.
