Thailand, 2024 MICHELIN

The Thailand Tourism Authority (TTA) is thrilled to recognize and celebrate the establishments featured in the latest 2024 MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2024. This guide continues to highlight the unique and varied culinary scene in Thailand, marked by its authentic local tastes and rich culinary heritage.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the TTA Governor, remarked, “Our successful and ongoing collaboration with The MICHELIN Guide since 2018 has significantly boosted Thailand’s tourism sector. The 2024 MICHELIN Guide, revered by food enthusiasts globally, has played a crucial role in positioning Thailand as a top culinary destination on the world stage.”

In its 2024 edition, the MICHELIN Guide Thailand includes 447 establishments, comprising 7 two-starred MICHELIN restaurants (2 elevated from one-star status), 28 one-starred MICHELIN restaurants (including 3 new entries and 3 advanced from the MICHELIN Selected category), 196 Bib Gourmand recipients (with 28 new additions and 4 upgraded from MICHELIN Selected), and 216 MICHELIN Selected establishments (37 being new).

Notable in this year’s edition are 23 newcomers from Ko Samui (4 Bib Gourmand and 7 MICHELIN Selected) and Mainland Surat Thani (8 Bib Gourmand and 4 MICHELIN Selected), marking the expansion of the Guide’s coverage in these newly included regions.

The latest Guide introduces 2 new two-starred establishments – Baan Tepa and Gaa, 6 new one-starred restaurants – INDDEE, NAWA, Samrub Samrub Thai, Mia, Resonance, and Wana Yook, along with a new MICHELIN Green Star recipient – J’AIME by Jean-Michel Lorain.

This edition also honors four distinguished culinary talents: Chudaree ‘Tam’ Debhakam of Baan Tepa with the MICHELIN Young Chef Award, Witchupol “Nay” Charoensupaya of NAWA for the MICHELIN Opening of the Year Award, Louise Bourgeois from Chef’s Table with the MICHELIN Service Award, and Thanakorn ‘Jay’ Bottorff from INDDEE for the MICHELIN Sommelier Award.

With Ko Samui and Mainland Surat Thani now included, the 2024 MICHELIN Guide Thailand’s scope extends to Bangkok (since 2018), Phuket and Phangnga (since 2019), Chiang Mai (since 2020), Ayutthaya (since 2022), and the Isan region (Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, and Udon Thani) since 2023.

The MICHELIN Guide Thailand aligns with TTA’s strategy to foster meaningful travel experiences centered on experiential tourism. Here, “Food” is a key element among the 5F soft powers – Film, Fashion, Fight, and Festival.

“Visiting any of the listed dining venues in the latest 2024 MICHELIN Guide Thailand, spread across the nation’s major cities, will enrich travelers’ experiences, both local and international. These culinary adventures promise to be not only a feast for the taste buds but also a memorable and soulful journey,” concluded Ms. Thapanee.
