During the UAE Year of Sustainability, and the 3rd ICAO Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels organized in Dubai, eight establishing units declared the introduction of the ‘Air-CRAFT’ enterprise – which is a UAE-based research association dedicated toward increasing, creating and ascending sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) know-hows.
Air-CRAFT or the UAE Center for Renewable and Advanced Fuel Technologies for Aviation is a unique inventiveness that will assemble units through the value chain – industry policy architects, aviation supervisors, fuel creators, academic world and scholars, aircraft and power plant producers and airline workers. While based in the UAE, the association will also involve with, and greet the involvement of pertinent global bodies as it grows. The new resourcefulness was declared on the side-lines of CAAF/3 and prior to COP28.
Air-CRAFT is backed by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in the UAE. The aviation segment
promises a great standing as a major supplier to the GDP and as a target segment for their forceful
decarbonization initiative, said His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure. He said that by 2050, the UAE has dedicated to reach net zero, and this objective can only be attained by reducing the releases across the board. Air-CRAFT will go extra miles to support the decarbonization of the aviation segment, aiding to make it strong and sustainable for the coming days.
