TravelMag.com’s survey ranks New Orleans as the top New Year’s Eve hotel spot, with a 182% price hike, followed by Miami (120%) and NYC (218%).
A recent study by TravelMag.com has identified New Orleans as the top-priced city globally for hotel accommodations during the New Year’s Eve period this year. The study compared the cost of a basic double room in 60 major cities worldwide, focusing on a 3-night stay from December 30th to January 2nd. Criteria for selection included hotels centrally located and with a minimum rating of three stars.
New Orleans leads the chart with the minimum room price of $1190, marking a staggering 182% increase over typical January prices. Following closely are Miami Beach and New York City, ranking second and third with 3-night stay costs of $1184 and $1164, respectively. Sydney and Rio de Janeiro are the priciest destinations outside the USA, with minimum charges of $1089 and $1087.
In the US, the study shows Boston and Chicago as the most budget-friendly options, with approximately $500 needed for a 3-night stay. Globally, Hanoi and Phnom Penh are the most economical for New Year’s Eve, with nightly rates under $40.
