Cyprus is one the world’s most famed destinations for weddings, honeymoon, blessings and leisure tourism. Located on the East Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus truly hails as the ‘Island of Love’.
Not only as the birthplace of Aphrodite, but with its myriad of options for ceremonies and celebrations, has the island a fair claim to its fame. Some of its most coveted wedding venues include beaches, yachts, chapels, town halls, museums, wineries and traditional villages.
Konnos Beach
Konnos Beach is one of the most scenic beaches in Cyprus tucked in the foothills of the Konnos Bay with perfect swimming conditions for water lovers. It is always a tranquil beach as the steep pine-covered slopes protect it from the ravages of wind. The pathways to the Konnos Beach are under the thick foliage of pine and other trees and the view from the top is truly alluring. Sea waters in different shades of blue gently lashing against golden sandy beach make this place a popular hideout for lovebirds. Honeymooners who look for a good dose of adventure during their romantic trip can consider this place in their bucket list.
Protaras Beach
With 326 year round sunshine, powdery beaches and warm climate, there umpteen reasons to the European honeymooners’ arrival at the Protaras Beach every year. The sandy promenade offers a wonderful spot to soak up the soft sun rays before plunging into the crystal sea waters. One of the must-see attractions in the Protaras Beach is the Cavo Greko National Forest Park with its surfeit of opportunities for hiking, cycling and other activities.
One of the crowning jewels in the Protaras Beach is the Fig Tree Bay which earned its name from a fig tree overlooking the bay. It was brought in by the eastern invaders in the 17th century and has gradually gained popularity with time for its clear sea waters and shimmering beaches. Some of the must-visit beaches in Protoras include Kapparis Beach, Vrysoudia Beach, Green Bay, Sirena and others.
Pissouri Beach
Recline on a sun-bed under parasol shade, swim in the bluest of seas, watch out for playful turtles, scale the heights with a parasail over the bay or propel the sea waves in a fly board- Pissouri Beach has it all. The village of Pissouri itself is also worth visiting as it retains its charming, traditional character. The beach is located 30 Km west of Lemesos whose existing natural charm is further heightened by the white cliffs of the Cape Aspro on its either side.
To the west the beach leads to the headland of Asprorotsos (white rock) that bulges out of the sea. The view from the top is breathtaking! Adrenaline junkies can indulge in water skiing, surfing and paragliding while leisure tourists can relax in a sunbed and let the cool sea breeze lull them.
