Travelers can also shop for an array of items including books, toys, snacks, technology, eyewear, and makeup at the many retailers located throughout the airport.
In between flights, passengers can enjoy modern amenities from art installations and live stage performances to the Lil’ Love Lounge, DAL’s children’s play area.
DAL even provides free Wi-Fi on internet-enabled, personal devices and unique services such as the heART CART – the only mobile art cart offered at a U.S. airport.
But that’s not all.
For moments to simply reset between flights, Dallas Love Field has a nursing room for parents, offices with Wi-Fi access for business travelers, and a prayer garden for those in need of quiet and reflection.
Travel And Tour World: How Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the aviation and travel industry sector?
Lauren Rounds: Internet of Things, (IoT) has been very beneficial to the world of aviation and is continuously evolving. The integration of IoT inDallas Love Field’s internal and partner processes, such as security screening and airline operations, has greatly improved the overall customer experience. Shorter wait time, improved baggage tracking and more streamlined security checks are just a few benefitsthat this emerging technology has had for DAL passengers.
Travel And Tour World: Share with us about Love Field Public Art Program.
Lauren Rounds: Through its Love Field Public Art Program, travelers can peruse the works of talented artists from Dallas and beyond with Dallas Love Field’s permanent art collection and varying exhibitions. There are also regular opportunities to enjoy live music, theater, and dance performances by local artists, including those from the Office of Cultural Affairs Community Arts Program and The Texas Music Project. With proper planning, complimentary guided art tours can also be booked.
Travel And Tour World: Dallas Love Field expects an average of over 30,000 travelers per day during the weeks of Spring Break observed between March 6 – 10 and March 13 – 17 for most local school districts. Share with us about the footprints that you have seen in this year.
Lauren Rounds: Travel volumes have significantly increased over the last two years after a dramatic drop in willingness to travel stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, since the onset of COVID-19, enplanements at DAL have recovered faster than most U.S. airports andwill continue to plan for higher passenger volumes. Recent calculations put the industry average recovery rate between 80 – 85%while DAL stands at 95% compared to 2019.
Travel And Tour World: How technology is evolving to offer best airport experience?
Lauren Rounds: In 2021, the Department of Aviation launched a test base for 5G in the terminal for Dallas Love Field passengers, vendors, airlines, and other agencies. As of today, 5G has been implemented throughout the terminal.
The Dallas Airport System is constantly learning about emerging technologies and ways to deploy them at the airport.
Fifth generation Wi-Fi, also known as 5G, delivers increased capacity, more throughput, and reduces latency with the benefits of faster speeds.
For users to receive the benefit of 5G services, their mobile devices must be 5G rated.
With the increase of customers with 5G capable mobile devices, more internet users than ever can have a smoother wireless connection and enhanced, reliable security experiences.
